Over 15 years ago I was in receipt of royalties from Johnson and Johnson Orthopaedics, all of which I paid into a research charity (Action Arthritis). I am a stockholder in Accentus (Medical).

I receive expenses for travel and accommodation for my ODEP related activities but otherwise I am unpaid.

• Member of the BOA / MHRA advisory committee on the problems of Metal on Metal articulations.
• Author and co-author on numerous papers in general orthopaedics with a particular emphasis on Hip replacement.
