Last rated 10B in 2016 – PAVI is a hemispheric cementless acetabular cup made of titanium alloy (TA6V). The primary fixation of the press-fit metal back is strengthened by 4 equatorial blades which ensure a stability in rotation. 4 tropical spikes or 3 holes which can receive diameter 5.5 mm self taping fixation screws ensure stability while moving. The bilayer coating is obtained by vaccum plasma spraying including an underlayer of progressively decreasing thickness of porous titanium (T40) and a continious layer of hydroxyapatite.
